We should always be looking for ways to Glorify God in every area of our life. That is why I always say being called into entrepreneurship is one of the greatest honors and rewards.
As Kingdom Builders, our businesses play key roles into the mission field. Believe it or not your business is a ministry. This doesn't mean that we need to Bible thump every customer/client. It just means that we should be living out the word of God through our actions and character. Every person who has an encounter with your business should feel the love of Christ.
This means thinking way deeper than just getting quick sales. It means looking for ways in every area of your business to serve more. It starts with blessing each task and making sure your products/services bring a multitude of value to people's lives.
It means to speak to them with love, joy, and gratitude. You must shift your mindset to understanding that each client/customer is truly a blessing from God and also an opportunity to display the heart of Christ. Ultimately the way you operate your entire business should be reflecting the love of Christ.
We know that in order to truly know and understand what God desires from us, we must know him. And in order to know him we must know his word. So now we're going to dive into some scriptures that will help us navigate better as Kingdom Business Owners.
Verses
Deuteronomy 8 17-18 says "You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today."
This is a great verse for your business to be grounded on. It helps us as entrepreneurs to remember that it is not our own actions and efforts that gives us success, it is our Heavenly Father alone who gives us the grace and power to produce wealth through us.
Proverbs 14:23 says "All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty."
This verse epitomizes the current trending phrase "Standing On Business". It let's us know that we can't just talk about it, we have to be about it. This means we must be proactive about bringing the ideas we have for our business to life, not just staying cemented in the planning phase. At some point you have to put things into action and trust that God has gone before you to make all of your plans and ideas come together.
Do you believe that God is your ultimate provider? If not, start with understanding and trusting that he is. Because if God made a way to supply everything the Israelites needed in the wilderness, he will provide everything you need to make your business succeed. Your success is your father's success. And the more wealth you build, the more he can use you to bless others.
This takes us into our next verse.
Titus 3:14 says "Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide urgent needs and not live unproductive lives"
This verse has helped me truly understand the meaning of "Kingdom Building". By providing good things through our businesses we are not only providing for our immediate families, but we are being used by God to supply the needs of his people.
We must understand that as a kingdom builder, God is partnering with us to redeem, restore, and revive the world...and he is using our businesses to do so. When we produce good products and services, are good to our clients/customers, and can graciously give the way that God gives to us...we are truly doing our parts in building the Kingdom Of God.
